Background to rendering
The animal by-products industry has always been a vital part of the food production chain across the world, providing valuable new products such as tallow and protein meal from residues from meat production.
Recent years have seen huge new challenges to the ways in which this industry has conventionally operated and the markets it serves.
Food production methods and consumption patterns are changing at an ever-faster rate, while at the same time consumer expectations and food-safety and environmental legislation has become increasingly demanding.
It is against this background that the PDM Group has used its wealth of expertise and accumulated experience to develop new processing methods and new end-uses for its products to the benefit of all in the supply chain.
